Planned Giving Program
Planned giving enables you to determine the most appropriate and advantageous way of giving to the charitable organization of your choice, without affecting your usual quality of life or that of your loved ones. It enables you to optimize your own tax benefits and those of your family. If you choose Montfort, planned giving will allow you to contribute to the future development of one of the most reputable hospitals in the province of Ontario.
You may opt for a gift that would be used at the discretion of the hospital needs and priorities or for a particular purpose (a specific medical unit, endowment fund, equipment acquisition, the Research Institute, etc.). Depending on your objectives, your planned gift may be made immediately or a later date.
It’s important for you to clearly establish your objectives, so you can choose the type of planned gift most appropriate to your situation and aspirations.
Main types of Plannned Gifts:
- Testamentary Bequest
- Gift of Life Insurance
- Charitable Gift Annuity
- Charitable Remainder Trust
- Gift in Kind (i.e. property or art collection)
- Gift of Securities
- Flow-Through Shares (i.e. shares or bonds)
- Endowment Fund
- Gift of a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) or a Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF)
Since every donor’s situation is unique, the Foundation would like to encourage anyone interested in making a planned gift to the Montfort Hospital to consult a legal or financial advisor for some sound advice on how to capitalize on all possible benefits and maximize the advantages of their generosity to Montfort.
